APPEARANCE:
Standing at a staggering six feet, three inches and weighing in at two hundred and twenty pounds of virtually only muscle, Ezio is physically intimidating. Soft brown hair falls just above his shoulders in long curls; though it appears to be only a few inches, when the curls are stretched to their fullest length, some of them stretch nearly nine inches. His nose is slightly crooked, having been broken before in brawls he sometimes gets into. Piercing blue eyes are inset into his head; when he stares at someone, the eyes will harden and seem as if they’re hard, unbreakable chips of ice.
His staggering weight and height are merely the beginning of his impressive stature. His shoulders are broad, and his arms are rather toned and defined from hours of manual labour for his parents, and hours more of time logged into his exercise machine at home.
His facial features are, for the most part, average. His lips are small and normally creased at the sides into a confident, at ease smirk. His bangs are always covering his eyebrows from view, though no one--not even Ezio himself--knows why he doesn’t just cut the things.
He generally wears t-shirts that present whatever logo, saying, or symbol that he feels is appropriate for the day. The most common one is a black t-shirt with the words ‘AUSTIN 3:16’ on the front, and a skull on the back, with wisps of blue flames exiting from its eyes and nose. Stamped onto the forehead of the blue tinted skull is the words ‘Stone Cold.’ If he ends up in a fight and comes out on top, he explains to the loser that ‘AUSTIN 3:16 says I just kicked your ass.’
He normally wears cargo shorts that fall a few inches past his knees, but leave enough of his legs revealed to count as shorts. The cargo shorts are littered with many pockets, most of them constantly filled with useless items that Ezio declares that he needs, often for terrible reasons.
PERSONALITY:
Unsurprisingly, a powerful, authoritative voice emanates from this man. He seizes charge whenever he is in a team situation, trusting himself more than others to make decision. When there is another person vying for control, Ezio will resist without relent. He is not one to take orders from others; rather he gives the orders.
Like all people though, Ezio has his faults. One of his main problems is that he suffers from dyslexia and has trouble reading, as well as telling his rights from his lefts. It frustrates the young man like nothing else can. His issues with reading and English class in general have been known to result in him break him down completely, leaving him crying tears of rage.
At one point, he suffered from major anger issues. He would erupt randomly, holes in the walls of his room at his home evidencing this. He was sent to a therapist, and his issues were handled with the assistance of the therapist. Ezio was taught how to reach his calm no matter what had happened to him. He was taught the secret of meditation, and he holds it close to his heart, trying to do it at least once a day.
His strengths are not entirely overshadowed by his weaknesses. His mind processes mathematics faster than most others, and he’s always excelled in it. Another one of his strengths is his unwavering dedication. If he aligns himself with any one person or cause, he’s likely to stay sided with them through anything that happens, and will never betray a friend or ally.
Though once an angry, violent person, his sessions of therapy have changed that, leaving him a calm man. His thoughts, once random, are generally clear now. He still does not always ‘think’ before acting, often doing the first thing that comes to mind, regardless of whether or not it’s the ‘right’ thing.
HISTORY:
Ezio’s life has always been in the same place. Same town, same house; even the same room. His parents were relatively wealthy, and he went to a private school. He did fine at the school, having no problems until he turned fourteen, when his mother went into labor and then the hospital. That day, at his school, someone took a jab at his mom and Ezio attacked them.
He was sent home from school and suspended for two days. It was then that he punched the first hole into his wall. His parents, when they heard the reasoning behind the fight, didn’t care. His frustration rose to extreme heights when his father informed him that he wouldn’t be allowed at the hospital. As a result he was left home alone, and, fuming with seething rage, he slugged a wall. His fist broke through it and he decided then and there that he would use it as a way to keep his anger ‘focused’ on one thing, rather than attacking random people.
By the time his mother returned home with a newborn son, school was out and Ezio was busying himself with his new hobby of watching professional wrestling. He took a liking to watching the sport and attempting to emulate the athletes. This resulted in a few of his more violent brawls, and at one point he took a shot to the face from a baseball bat, shattering his nose. This was the first, but certainly not the last, time that he broke it.
Other important things that happened during the summer was Ezio meeting a boy named Seth, and meeting the first girl that he was attracted to. The crush , of course, went nowhere, but his friendship was strong--forged with glorious summertime rituals such as eating cookies and playing video games in the basement, and it remains to be one of the most important relationships in Ezio's life.
The next school year was his first in high school, and the first one where his parents informed him that his grades actually do matter. Because he began to actually try as best he could, his dyslexia kicked in at full force, and he began to grow more frustrated than he had ever been before. Soon enough, the holes in his wall outnumbered the actual wall. With time, he gave up on his attempts to keep all of his anger and rage concentrated on the wall, and began to fight again.
His fits of rage caused many problems for the school administration and they called in a therapist to talk to the young lad. The therapist's name was Laura. the first time that he was officially diagnosed with dyslexia was his first session with her. The therapy helped him only a little in the beginning, as he didn't trust what Laura had to say. After Ezio trusted her though, she was able to truly help him. Thought she was not a professional in the medical field, and therefore unable to help him with his dyslexia, she taught him ways to cope with his anger problems.
Laura also spoke with the boy's parents and insisted they lay off of him on the subject of his grades, which helped his frustration with himself and inability to succeed in English class decline. Laura was ultimately the defining factor in molding Ezio into the man he is today. She instilled in him the calmness, and helped him gain control of his often random thoughts.
In his other classes, Ezio usually succeeded in pulling a B- average. He excelled greatly in math, to the surprise of virtually everyone around him--including himself. His ability to process the numbers and equations as fast as he can has always astounded him, mostly because he thought that the dyslexia would affect this as well.
He was deadset on going to the sessions with Laura until he graduated from high school, despite her insistence that he was perfectly fine, and did not need to see her anymore. The fights had ended by this point, and the only things that still stuck with him from his earlier, more violent years was his love for professional wrestling, he still watched the shows weekly, his best friend, and the holes he'd made in his wall.
His parents had become pleased with his status in academics, especially with the C he'd managed to scrape by with in English. The rest of his classes retained the B- average that he was extremely pleased with, and he was set to go to a rather prestigious university before he appeared in the Digital World.
His best, and some would say only, friend Seth had always been a guru with technology. Seth had created a contraption that he had wanted to show his friend, and Ezio came to see. Seth ran the program, and it opened a portal, a special one that only the pre-determined Digidestined. It was a portal to the Digital World, and Ezio and Seth entered it together.
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
Ezio stared forward as the teacher spoke to the classroom, rambling on about something. He was in English class, and didn’t want to bother to pay attention. If he did, he would only get angry, and then Laura might be disappointed in him. He didn’t want this--besides, the class was almost over, and then he would go for his daily session with the young woman. “Ezio? Why aren’t you paying attention?” the teacher asked and Ezio looked up, staring at her. Hadn’t Laura spoken with Ms. Rose?
Ezio closed his eyes and simply shook his head, drawing a jeer from a nearby classmate. Sixteen at this point, he was a veteran of many fights, but he wanted to please Laura, and wouldn’t fight if he could avoid it. He kept his eyes closed, and laid down onto the desk, resting on his cheek. The bell rung five minutes later and he stood up, rubbing his neck. He was shoved once as he exited the classroom, by one of the bullies. Ezio calmly glanced at him, inhaling through his nose once, then exhaling. He was finding it hard to keep himself under control.
He started to walk away, faster than before, wanting to get away from the varied enemies he had in the classroom, and to one of the few people that he considered a friend. He grasped the door knob to his therapist’s office and turned it happily, smiling brightly as he pulled open the door. “Hi, Laura!” He said cheerily and the blond, glasses wearing woman behind the desk smiled.
“Hello, Ezio!” She responded tossing a wave to the boy. “What do you want to talk about now?” By this time, she’d run out of things to drill him on, and had a large file full of notes she’d taken. She let him choose what they talked about now, and never scribbled on her notepad anymore.
“Oh. I dunno,” he shrugged, “I just...don’t feel like going to my next class. They’re mean to me, Laura. I don’t like it, and I’d hurt them if I could. But I can’t.” He sighed and his head fell forward, catching it in his hands.
It was a rare occasion. Ezio did not usually open up to her, and Laura grabbed her notepad, clicking her pen and opening to a page that was empty. “Why can’t you?”
“You know why. Everyone would be angry with me.”
“Everyone?”
“Everyone.”
